Col. Leonard P. Ayres, 1879-1946.

Soldier, education reformer, statistician  and business cycle empiricist of the American Institutionalist school.

Famously challenged Irving Fisher's optimism on stock prices, warning instead of a "creeping bear", a little while before the Wall Street Crash in 1929.
